This absolutely stunning Lady on stage is Sarah Taylor – in competition mode at the AWA PCA Bendigo Classic – Athletes With Attitude Competition. A mean feat in the Body Sculpting & Body Building fitness Industry.
Looks and sounds amazing doesn’t it, is this the height of competitive energy? Is business anywhere close to competition at this athlete level? How do these competitors achieve their success?
In Competitive Industries such as Body Sculpting & competing on stage side-by-side, only inches away from your fellow competitors there are many ‘rites of passage’ you will need to experience!
A couple weeks ago we spoke to Sarah about all things Body Sculpting & her amazing journey being classified as obese at age 40 to becoming 6 x World Figure Champ at 45.
Sometimes in business you also need to get through similar ‘rites of passage’. Sarah talked to us about dealing with & overcoming ‘competition’ on stage or in business.
Sometimes you’re up on stage and the person beside you has the exact same pose strategy or outfit by pure coincidence. At times however people will even attempt to “flatter” you by imitating and implementing ideas, thought process, strategy or style.

POISE: Poise is vital on stage. It portrays confidence, elegance, grace and humbleness in a highly critical, subjective, judgemental situation. Poise empowers you, and allows you to compete as your true authentic self.
- How do you portray yourself in business? Are you being real, realistic and true to yourself, your team and your vision?
POSE: Work on the best stances that show you off on stage in your true light, hold yourself in a way that highlights your best assets over and above your competitors.
- How do you highlight your best assets? Did you market your latest product with a creative standout campaign?
PERFORM: Stage presence is key & not being afraid to demand the judges eye & attention.
- The same is true in business. Stay in touch with your audience & display your best work. Show your flavour, perform in front of prospect clients, stakeholders, investors & the rest of your industry!
